Course Description
This course serves as an introduction to the art of video post-production. We are going to explore the concept and practice of various editing styles in order to gain a better understanding of how stories are constructed in the editing room. Through demonstrations and hands-on experience, students learn editing techniques to enable them to improve the sound and image quality of videos.
Course Objectives
After successful completion of this course the student should:
- Better understand techniques editors use to construct stories.
- Basic camera operation and filming.
- Have a thorough working knowledge of non-linear editing software.
- Be able to do color correction and grading.
- Understand video formats and principles.
- Be able to shoot, manage, import, edit raw video files and export them in different formats.
- Understand techniques in smartphone filming and editing.
